How to Find Us

The postcode will take anyone using a satnav to the shops on nearby Kellaway Avenue. When the site was built in the 1920s in the middle of the common, Kellaway Avenue was just a track and none of Henleaze, Golden Hill, Horfield or Manor Farm had been built then.

These are directions that work for us: once on Kellaway Avenue, the turning for The Ardagh car park can be found between Lime Trees Road and Dyrham Close on the opposite side of the road. Turn onto the tree-lined single track lane which will bring you straight to the car park.

The sauna is a space for relaxation and rejuvenation. Please be mindful of this while using it.

Respect others’ need for peace and quiet – keep your conversations considerate in volume, tone, and content. Remember, The Ardagh is a shared community space.

During ‘Quieter’ sessions, please limit conversation to a minimum while inside the sauna.

Refrain from commenting on or staring at others’ bodies or tattoos. Even well-meaning compliments can be uncomfortable.

The Ardagh Community Sauna is a nonsexual space. Please avoid intimate behavior such as kissing or close physical contact.

If you’d like to use essential oils or aromatherapy, consult with a staff member and your fellow sauna-goers first to ensure everyone’s safety.

Do not make assumptions about someone’s gender. If you’re unsure, politely ask which pronouns they use.

The sauna is a phone-free zone. Please leave your phone outside. You’re welcome to take photos outdoors, but always ask for permission first.

This is an alcohol- and drug-free environment. Being under the influence can increase the risks of dehydration, overheating, and impaired awareness of distress signals.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted at The Ardagh Community Sauna.

Before adding water to the sauna stones, check with others and pour slowly, pausing between ladles to let the heat distribute. Be cautious of hot steam and water to avoid burns.

Stay hydrated before, during, and after your sauna session.

Be careful around the sauna stove and surfaces, as they can become extremely hot.

If you’re ever concerned about someone’s safety or wellbeing, please notify a staff member right away.

We hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable time at The Ardagh Community Sauna.

Private hire of the sauna is available upon request, subject to demand.

You can transfer or cancel your booking up to 24 hours before your session for a refund.

If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, unfortunately, we cannot issue a refund.

To cancel, use the link in your booking confirmation email or the TeamUp web app. There’s no need to email us.

If you miss your session without prior notice, we’re unable to reschedule or refund your booking. As we often sell out, last-minute cancellations mean we incur costs for running the space.

However, bookings are transferable – you’re welcome to give your session to a friend or let us offer it to someone in need who may not afford regular visits.

Currently, each attendee must register, sign a waiver, and provide ‘next of kin’ information. For this reason, it’s not yet possible to purchase a ticket for someone else.
